SOCCER: APR 01 World Cup Qualifier - Trinidad and Tobago at United States

Remember that report from SI.com courtesy of Goal.com that said Jozy Altidore was on his way to Greek champs Olympiakos? Not so fast on that, apparently. Not only did a Spanish paper report that Jozy has Mexican interest (which would be incredibly interesting) on Friday, new reports today have Jozy linked to La Liga side Málaga.

Again, and now that I've been sufficiently scared off of "reporting" on these kind of rumors (if you didn't notice, I went back and added a question mark to the headline of the Jozy-to-Olympiakos post), when it comes to our young striker, it's all about playing time. No matter where he ends up, the most important thing is that he doesn't simply ride the bench, waiting for a player ahead of him to get hurt. Jozy's good enough to start for many clubs in many leagues, and should be given the opportunity to start somewhere.

Until I hear otherwise, all Jozy stories will be handled as rumors until an official announcement comes from one of the teams involved.

Are happy that that Olympiakos move is still just a rumor? Do you think Mexico or Málaga would be better destinations?
